STALKING
Protection from Harassment Act 1997,
Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the
consideration of Private Nuisance proceedings,
are in place,as a deterrent for "the stalker".
the Oxford English Dictionary (definition)
"stalking is to pursue (game) by stealthy
approach for the purpose of killing or capture".
applied to a stalker,
this person pursued over time by another,
using a variety of behaviours, which are
intrusive and manipulative in a controlling way.
The Legal definition of 'stalking.
Criminal activity consisting of the 'repeated'
following and 'harassing' of another person.
Another term, that could be used to describe
stalking is 'prowling'
defined as,"to go about in search (of prey)
with predatory intent, and to seek advantage
in an underhanded way".
Stalkers, can stick to the same victim(s) for
long periods of time
STALKING
SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE AT PRESENT.
'prowlers' however,tend to be more
teriorially orientated in their habits
and therefore,
switch victims frequently,as they
move in and out of their 'territory'
Stalking is a distinctive form of
criminal activity,composed of a
'series of actions',that taken
individually might constitute
LEGAL BEHAVIOUR ie
sending flowers,sending love
notes,waiting for someone outside
her workplace,
are actions that,on their own,
are Not Criminal.
When these actions are coupled
with an INTENT to instill fear or
injury,however,they may constitute
a 'pattern of behaviour that is
ILLEGAL.
Stalking is unwanted and/or
REPEATED SURVEILLANCE
by an individual or group,toward
another person.
Stalking behaviours are interrelated
to Harassment and Intimidation.
FOLLOWING
Stalkers often follow their victims,
on foot,bicycle,motor vehicle.
LAW
Stalkers sometimes use law to
further their aims,they may pursue
either criminal or civil proceedings,
against their victim,or may
counterclaim in proceedings
brought against them,by the victim,
in order to obfuscate the issue.
LOITERING
Stalkers often loiter near their
victim,and stalk them by
'path crossing',pestering them
or watching them form a distance.
there is often a hint of MENACE,
about all of these forms of
stalking.
PEEPING TOMS
have all the attributes of a stalker
who loiters in addition,they often
trespass on their victims property
and are indiscriminate in their
intentions,
regard by the courts as a
"public nuisance"
POST
'poison pen letters'
are an ancient form of stalking,
the 'poison' in the letter may be
either
content or simply in the fact, that
the letter has been sent and
received
STATEMENTS & DISCLOSURES
made to third parties,is rapidly
becoming one of the most common
manifestations of stalking
the stalker,makes defamatory
comments to another,about the
victim,
intending to harm the
REPUTATION of the victim
Such statements and actions can
amount to a 'course of conduct'
allowing for action to be taking
under the
Protection from Harassment
Act 1997
TELEPHONING
Stalkers use the telephone/
(mobile) very often 'silent calls'
or 'abusive calls' or calls that
indicate to the victim,that they
are/or have been watched,and
knows personal information about
the victim and/or
ringing of the phone as harassment
THIRD PARTIES
a Stalker who has for instance,
been frustrated in or prevented
from stalking his intended victim
directly,
for instance,by an Injunction or
Restraining Order,may stalk that
person vicariously by
stalking a close friend or relative
of the intended victim.
The stalker may then telephone
parents,family members,boyfriend,
etc instead,
they (stalker) may even resort to
using another person to make the
telephone calls,
it still constitutes stalking,and the
person(s) that he used/uses are
themselves assisting in committing
the crime of stalking
CONFRONTATION
Stalkers may confront their victims
in public public places,
A Stalker can make a point of
letting the victim know that they are
being followed
as mentioned,this behaviour can
go on for very long periods of time,
and it is extremely common to
pursue a victim over
MONTHS extending into YEARS,
HARASSMENT IN THE HOME
Stalkers often harass their victim
in their homes,causing anxiety due
to the fact that the victim should
be/feel safe.
OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOUR AT
WORK.
The victim of offensive behaviour
should in the FIRST INSTANCE,
report the conduct to his/her
employer,or at least to a
SENIOR MANAGER,also report
the conduct to his/her
UNION REPRESENTATIVE,
bear in mind, that if it is that very
Supervisor doing the harassment,
then Report the Conduct to
someone SUPERIOR to that
Supervisor,
but then,should the Offender be
the ultimate authority,ie the
Employer,etc
having reported it to the Union Rep
(if any) consider making a
complaint to the Employment
Tribunal
Former spouses and partners,
is the most common form of
harassment,and the largest source
of stalking,
then consider the above legislation
PSYCHOLOGY OF STALKING
Stalking in general has been under
reported,and persons are unaware
that they are Experiencing Stalking
(especially from that helpful
colleague)
the aim of the stalker is to cause
and maintain the victim in
ISOLATION,to cause FEAR,
ALIENATION and DESPAIR
The victim also fails to recognise
or even be aware, that a large
number of people are or could be
involved and
they themselves,(the assistants)
may themselves not realise,that
the stalker is actually using them
to actually gather more information
about his victim and bear in mind
that if the stalker started his
campaign in the WORKPLACE
ENVIRONMENT,the perpetrator
1) over a period of time,longer
than the person imagines,has
already started the
DEFAMING PROCESS
aimed to Alienate and eventually
to ISOLATE his target, but this is
the cunning part
he then offers his shoulder to lean
upon (via his waiting vehicle)
and that always ready to listen ear
in other words "the hero"
2) Then there is the NEIGHBOUR
the same applies, and just as above,
(especially if the female is married
and/or in a relationship) the
perpetrator,would have already
started to tarnish her reputation
the reputation of the partner and
THEIR REPUTATION AS A
COUPLE.
Sowing the seeds and/or setting
the scene, not only for future events
but for the present and past,
remember,the information that
he has gathered,over a period
of time,is not casual chit chat
information
it is personal and intimate details
private and confidential
information that effectively only
close family members/friends
would know.
It is this kind of information, that
he gathers,enabling him to
infiltrate your Personal Circles and
your Personal Space,that he starts
to,and maintains CONTROL OVER
hence,information would be
obtained about
a) the FEMALE (victim)
her day to day movements etc
b) her PARTNER
his day to day movements ie
WORK PATTERN/friend circles etc
and
by now indicating to the female
that she is his target,as his
confidence grows
PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT
on the victim(s)
The unsuspecting partner has
become a target,eventually to
become and be used as a
bargaining tool in his game
as he closes in on his victim
(the female) blackmail and
threats become his weapons,
threats to a loved one
threats to another neighbour(s)
threat to colleague(s)
threat to a SUPERVISOR etc
and that is just on her side,
the same threats are aimed at
the unsuspecting partner,based
on fabricated lies,
that he would have already
started long before spreading
about the partner,
something that he can control
and continue to feed into the
personal circles of the partner,
but at the same time,especially
as he in closing in on the female
make her aware that he is doing
just so hence BLACKMAIL.
To now escape the stalker,
DISRUPTION in her daily life
(routine)
this could include, going all out to
avoid this person,especially to/
from her place of work,
this may result in changes to
or leaving their employment,
leaving their residence,and/or
changing their telephone number
leading to ISOLATION
Stalking is a form of
MENTAL ASSAULT,in which
the perpetrator,
REPEATEDLY.UNWANTEDLY.and DISRUPTIVELY breaks into the
life/world/space of his target,
with whom he has No Relationship
with and/or (no longer has)

their victim from a distance
RANGE OF BEHAVIOURS

of a range of behaviours
harmless n one sense,in isolation
but that action over time, and the
effect of cumulative actions,over a

which in turn produces
intimidation,control and fear
